Coke & Team Program - Coca Cola Fountain / Gold Peak Bunn Tea Equipment - (Effective 2022)

Stores are allotted 3 free REACTIVE service calls per year.

  • Example: Malfunctioning equipment

All ELECTIVE calls are billed directly to location.

  • Examples: Remove and reinstall for new countertops, changing out a flavor, non-maintenance issues, etc.
  • The store is responsible to remove ice machine before remove / reinstall of equipment

Effective Jan 2022, Coke will email service invoices, over the first 3 free reactive, directly to store owners monthly. They will no longer come from Shane’s Rib Shack LLC. Service billing will be handled between the store level and Coke

Best Practices to keep service costs down

  • Routine self-maintenance and phone fix are important first NO COST options. Service fees are charged by tech mileage, labor, and parts.  Those costs continue to rise year over year.
  • Tea brewers.  It can be a waste of service $$ to use up 3 valuable free calls on tea brewers that are worn out.  A new tea brewer is approx. $550. The average service call cost $300 min. for ANY service to fountain and brewers.  Service calls on fountain usually run much higher especially where replacement parts are involved.  Consider your cost/value to replace tea brewers.  Stores only get free tea brewers at new opening install and 10-to-12-year fountain equipment replacement installs.
  • If flat/no carbonation problem: Try phone fix first.  Check C02 supply.
  • If electrical problem: Check the GFI outlet for reset or check breaker first.
  • If a water leak: Is fountain drain pan clogged or a real water leak?  Where is the leak?  If it is the drain pan, try clearing the clog first with a drain brush.

To schedule a Coke technician:

  1. Call 800-241-COKE (2653)
  2. State if the problem is tea brewer or fountain equipment.  Not all techs are trained on both pieces of equipment.
  3. Try using FREE phone fix first. Stores may be quick to call in a service tech for something minor that can be corrected over the phone.
  4. UTILIZE small parts program by ordering $50 per month per store location in FREE small parts. This is combined parts total on fountain and tea, NOT EACH CATEGORY. Anything over $50 per store per month will be billed to the store. Tax is NOT added on the price sheets. Add your state and county taxes to the pricing. The $50 is TOTAL allowed with tax not to generate an invoice to you. Order small parts monthly to have adequate small parts on hand when needed. Please note prices are subject to change so please ask for prices when you place an order.

Maintenance

#1 maintenance tip: Use fountain drain brush to clean the fountain drain daily/weekly to prevent drain clogs that become too severe and then requires a technician.  Brush is on the attached small parts list.

If you have issues with clogging drains due to sugar from soda build up, a product called “soda snake cleaner” and other products specifically for sugar build up in drains.  Sugar can build up and create “sugar snakes” that clog up drains.  Google “sugar snake drain cleaner” for an option to order if needed.  Amazon has one by Invade Bio Drain.  Kay makes a Daily Beverage Tower cleaner.  Look for a product that specifically says sugar based cleaner.  It will keep sugar from building in the drain lines.  As always take all safety precautions and keep MSDS sheet on hand in your chemical binder of any products purchased.
