Which valve is leaking?

Make sure the valves on the sink are both turned off

Turn off Hot water valve under sink and see if the leak stops (Hot is the most common valve to fail)

If not, turn off the Cold water valve under the sink and see if the leak stops

Turn on the Hot water valve again to see if a leak starts again.  If yes, both valves are leaking

Once you determine which valve(s) are leaking turn off both water valves under the sink

Remove Phillips screw from the top of the handle

Pry handle off of the valve stem

Loosen cover nut from on top of the valve and remove over valve stem

Cold water turn counter clockwise to loosen

Hot water turn clockwise to loosen

Pull valve out of the housing

Remove Phillips screw from the bottom of the valve

Replace washer and put screw back into the bottom of the valve holding the washer in place

Put valve back into housing

Put handle back on valve stem and turn the valve until it tightens in the same direction that you would turn off the water

Remove handle and put back on in the desired position when closed

Put Phillips screw back into the top of the handle to tighten the handle in place.

Move the handle On & Off to confirm travel

Turn water back on and test
