Created by Ed Patzsch, Modified on Mon, 30 Mar at 6:41 AM by Ed Patzsch

This document explains what the different types of modifiers are and provides tips on how to ring up different types of modifiers on the Square POS terminal.

Types of Modifiers

Optional Selections –

Modifiers that do not need selections. For example, a bread modifier that has a default but can be changed if desired.

Required Selections –

Modifiers that are set to Required will need 1 or more sections made before the item can be added to a check.  For example, both meats on a Two Meat Plate

Limited Selections –

Modifiers that are limited to how many selections can be made for that item.  For example, the number of sides that can be chosen.

Multiple Selections –

Modifiers that allow multiple selections for that item.   For example, toppings on a burger where the customer requests No Onions and No Pickles.
