Square: Setting up an Authorized Representative

From Square Dashboard

  1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to StaffTeamTeam members.
  2. Select Add team member.
  3. Enter the team member’s first and last name, along with their email address or phone number. Click Next.
  4. Enter their primary job title, job details, and pay type (hourly or salary). If the job already exists, select Primary job title or start typing the title to access a drop-down menu of existing jobs. Select Next.
  5. Determine their level of access by selecting an existing permission set or select Create a new permission set.
  6. Assign the locations these permissions apply to and click Save.
  7. To make the team member an authorized representative, toggle on Authorized Representative.
  8. Generate a personal passcode, then select Next.
  9. Review the information you provided and your selections, then select Done.

Add an authorized representative

You can add existing team members as authorized representatives from your business settings.

  1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to SettingsAccount & SettingsMy businessSecurity.
  1. Under Authorized Representatives, select Select existing team members. If you select Add new team member, follow the steps to add a new team member.
  1. Select an existing team member and select Assign authorized representative.
